General Information

  • Letting commences at 4pm on the first day of the booking and terminates at 10am on the last day.
  • Each bothy is let on a nightly basis for holiday purposes, for a minimum period of four nights.
  • The booking is restricted to those named on the booking form.
  • As they are compact, strictly two people can be accommodated in each bothy in a double bed.  (There is not room for an additional bed.)
  • The price paid is fully inclusive of electricity, bed linen, towels and tea towels for each person who has booked.
  • Bookings cannot be accepted in the name of persons under the age of 18 years of age.
  • Due to the terrain around the bothies, and their compact size, we regret that they are not suitable accommodation for wheelchair users.
  • We regret that we cannot accommodate pets, other than assistance dogs.
  • The property has a no smoking policy indoors.
  • During the period of Covid-19 or any other pandemic, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are healthy and safe to travel and that you respect the safety of the owners and any other guests by conforming to social distancing and any other government guidelines relating to your stay.

 

Booking, Payment & Cancellation Policy

  • To secure a booking, full payment must be received no less than five days in advance of arrival.
  • If  payment has not been received five days in advance of arrival, the booking will be deemed to have been cancelled and the days booked will be re-advertised.
  • Guest cancellations made six days or more in advance of arrival, will be reimbursed in full.
  • Guest cancellations made 5 days or less in advance of arrival, will not be reimbursed.
  • For bookings made 5 days or less in advance of arrival, payment in full will be required immediately by credit/debit card or bank transfer, and no refunds will be given thereafter.
  • If, due to unforeseen circumstance, ‘Bothain a’ Chìobair’ cannot be made available for the period booked, all monies paid by the guest will be refunded with no further claims against the owners.
  • It is strongly suggested that guests arrange holiday insurance against possible cancellation after payment has been made. If due to unforeseen circumstances, they are instructed not to travel (rather than taking the decision themselves), they may be able to reclaim on their insurance, any payment they have made, depending on their level of cover.

 

Payment Methods

Online debit or credit card payment, bank transfer or cheque made payable to: ‘Bothain a’ Chìobair’.

 

Care of the bothies and site

  • The bothies and site will be in a clean and tidy condition for guests arriving, and it is politely requested that they are left in like condition at the end of the holiday.
  • The right is reserved to make a charge for additional cleaning if the bothies have not been left in a reasonable condition.
  • In respect of breakages, loss or damage, guests should report immediately, any defect or deficiency which they notice on arrival, so that they may be rectified.
  • Where appropriate, guests will be liable to pay the replacement cost of any significant item which has been broken lost or damaged during their visit.
  • We reserve the right to terminate your booking immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation where you engage in unacceptable behaviour that causes a disturbance or distress to other guests or to neighbours.
  • When the bothies are unattended, please ensure doors are locked and windows closed.
  • For your own safety, the doors of the wood burning stove must always be kept closed when the fire is lit.  Please also ensure that you place the fire guard around the stove when you go to bed.

 

Right of Entry

The owners reserve the right to enter the bothies at any reasonable time for the purposes of repair and maintenance or inspection.

 

Complaints

Should any cause for complaint arise during your holiday, please contact the owners immediately so that the issue(s) might be addressed swiftly.

 

Contract

The contract is between the guest and Mr & Mrs Jack MacFarlane, the owners of ‘Bothain a’ Chìobair’.

These Booking Terms and Conditions are governed by Scottish law and apply to all Bookings except where we agree other terms in writing. By making a booking you are deemed to accept these Booking Terms and Conditions.
